SPPS Spli-Switch Installation Instructions
The SPPS Spli-Switch can be installed with the trigger frame attached to the body of your marker but it may be more simple to maneuver while installing if they are separated.......your choice. A more detailed account may be seen in the micro switch instructional in the 'Technical Information' section of our SPPS site.
- Remove both trigger frame grips.
- Lay the e-frame on it's left side and tap out the trigger pin with a flat head punch and remove the trigger.
- Tap the 2 micro switch retaining pins out through the right side as well.
- Pry and unplug the white connector that the 2 lead wires from the micro switch goes to.
- Pull the micro switch, wires and connector out of the trigger frame through the trigger guard area.
- Cut the brown center and black bottom wires from the original micro switch.
- Strip the plastic outer wire insulation from the brown and black wires the same length as the stripped ends of the Spli-Switch wires. Be sure that you don't cut into the strands of the wires when stripping them because if you cut too many strands off, the mating wires won't make a good electrical connection once twisted together.
NOTE: You can shorten the lead wires of the Spli-Switch if you should choose so as there will be alot of extra wire when you're done connecting the two. Just be sure there's enough wire to reinstall the connector to the board. Better to have too much than not enough......your choice.
- Making sure that the shrink tubing is still on the wires of the Spli-Switch, splice the 2 wire ends from the connector plug to the 2 wire ends of the Spli-Switch by twisting them together. The brown wire from the connector plug goes to the wire leading from the center post of the Spli-Switch and the black wire from the connector plug goes to the wire leading from the bottom post of the Spli-Switch. Make sure that the wires are twisted together well enough to avoid being easily pulled apart.
- Push the protruding spliced wire ends along side of the plastic insulation parallel to the connector wire side of the unions.
- You should now be able to carefully push the shrink tubing over the spliced wire unions. We have supplied you with enough shrink tubing to sufficiently cover the exposed wires and both ends of the wire leads. Try to center the shrink tubing at the adjoined wires if possible.
- Heat the shrink tubing with a heat gun or hair dryer until it's tightly around the wire unions. Make sure that the wires are in a flat position when doing this. The tubing can shrink to 1/2 it's initial size so it should fit nice and tight to the mated wires and the insulation of the wires.
- Pull the connector, wires and micro switch back through the trigger frame and tap the micro switch retaining pins back the way they were. The star side of the pins should be on the left side of the trigger frame.
- Return the plug into the receptacle of the board and position the wires so not to be caught between the capacitor or battery once you reinstall the grips. You should have plenty of extra wire now and that can be packed in the trigger frame over the board area. Do not pack any of the wires in the sear area as it can interfere with its function.
- Return the trigger in its place the test out your new 50 gram Spli-Switch assembly.
